Residents of Domeabra in the Oseikrom Electoral Area, in the Amansie Central District, were thrown into a state of free for all wailing Monday afternoon, when a speeding big truck drove on top of a 35 year-woman, killing her instantly right in the full glare of the public.
Identified as Amina, the deceased is a mother of four.
She and four other women, were sitting in the trunk of the big truck but suddenly the vehicle developed a fault in its break.
The other terrified women managed to jump from the truck of the truck to safety but unfortunately Amina, whilst jumping from the vehicle, fell on the ground.
The same truck that Amina had jumped from to safety, according to eyewitnesses accounts, trapped and ran over her in a dangerous manner.
Amina, reportedly, died on the spot and her body was taken to the Saint Peter’s Hospital Mortuary in the area for autopsy and preservation.
Stephen Sekyere, the Assemblyman for Oseikrom Electoral Area, said the death had brought sadness to the entire community and beyond.
He said Amina and the other women had visited the bush to carry woods as labourers for a fee, but she met her death after Monday’s work.
Sekyere said the labourers had closed from work and they were being conveyed to their homes when the truck they were travelling in failed its break.
The assemblyman noted that Amina wanted to jump to safety just as the other women had done but unfortunately she got trapped and killed by the car.
