Truck runs over girl, 5

Agonized wailing enveloped the small quite town of Apromase, near Kumasi, after the horrific death of five year-old girl on Saturday afternoon.

Identified as Christabel Ottoo, the young girl was unfortunately ran over by a tipper truck, which was fully laden with sand, killing her instantly on the road.

Several parts of the deceased’s body was scattered on the road as she lay under the huge truck, attracting a sizeable number of curious people to the scene.

Some of the people, especially the women in the crowd, were seen shedding uncontrollable tears as the young girl lay motionless at the bloody scene.

A police report, sighted by THE NEW PUBLISHER, said the lifeless body of the young girl had been deposited at the Emina Hospital morgue for autopsy.

It also said Kwabena Barfi, the driver, who was in charge of the Benz Tipper Truck, registered GE 2148-17, which killed the girl, was in police custody, assisting in investigations.

The police report further disclosed that the truck was loaded the sand from Asawase in Kumasi. It was heading to Apemso to offload the sand to its owner.

According to the police, upon reaching the Apromase township, the truck knocked down Christabel Otoo, before running over the young girl to end her life.
