DETTOL Ghana has partnered the Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association (GRNMA) to promote good hygiene for expectant, nursing mothers and Ghanaians at large.
The partnership gives Dettol the exclusive right to use the association’s (GRNMA) official logo on all its products and brand materials.
Speaking on behalf of Dettol at the signing ceremony in Accra on July 27, the Country Sales Manager for Reckitt, Henry Ankrah, said Dettol was one of the most trusted brands in the world backed by research and innovation such that it was safe, easy to use and an effective hygiene product that killed up to 100 illness-causing germs.
“Dettol’s partnership with GRNMA is in line with the brand’s purpose to protect life, reduce the burden of illness, and to drive behaviour change to create lasting hygiene habits.
The partnership aims to further encourage good hygiene practices in hospitals, communities and the public through an array of activities,” he said.
It will also help to create and release public awareness messages, campaigns on public health and personal hygiene to promote awareness of health and hygiene matters among the public.
Commending the nurses and midwives for their roles, which ensured safe child delivery and provided extensive health care for Ghanaians, Mr Ankrah expressed the hope that the partnership will enable nurses and midwives throughout the country to be ambassadors for the Dettol range of products.
The president of GRNMA, Perpetual Ofori Ampofo, described Dettol as an original antiseptic that was used in various clinics across the country because it aided in killing bacteria and provided protection against germs which caused infection and illness.
“We use it a lot in our clinics and it is also included in the list of items required for pregnant women because it is good in terms of protecting us against various microbs.
“By signing this MoU with Reckitt, the association has endorsed Dettol. So as part of this partnership, we must also continue to encourage our patients and general public to also continue using Dettol for the home, hospital and schools,” she said.
