The National U-23 team are set to face Egypt in their second Group A match in the ongoing U-23 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.
After drawing 1-1 in the opening match against Cameroon, Ghana needs a win to boost their chances of qualifying for the semi-finals of the competition.
Egypt beat Mali 1-0 in their first match and sit on top of the group with three points while Ghana has one point.
Considering the opposition ahead of him in today’s epic match, coach Tanko has described it as difficult, but assured of a positive result.
According to him, though the Egyptians will have the fans behind them, the Black Meteors are confident and poised for victory.
“Facing the hosts comes with pressure, but we can manage that. Egypt has many good players and I watched some games for them. We also have some quality players and the boys know the stakes playing against Egypt in the second game but I’m sure we will scale through,” he noted.
