President Nana Akufo-Addo has made aware that, Navrongo campus of the University of Development Studies (UDS) would be named after the late Chairman of the Council of Elders of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr C. K. Tedam, who was buried on Saturday, 22 June 2019.
The President made this known at a state burial service in Paga, in the Kasena Nankana West District in the Upper East Region during the burial ceremony of C.K Tedam last Saturday.
According to him, the school in the coming days would be known as the C.K. Tedam University of Technology and Applied Sciences, adding that, the Bill currently is laid before Parliament.
“In the sitting of Parliament, a Bill seeking to create an autonomous University out of the Navrongo campus of the University of Development Studies will be laid… Once the parliamentary processes are completed, it will be referred to as the C.K Tedam University of Technology and Applied Sciences.” he said.
The President at the burial service was accompanied by the Vice President, Dr.Mahamadu Bawumia; his wife, Samira Bawumia; Speaker of Parliament, Prof. Aaron Mike Oquaye; Chief of Staff, Akosua Fremaa Osei Opare; Majority leader, Osei Kyei Mensah-Bonsu; Chairman of the NPP, Freddie Blay among other dignitaries.
