Unpaid Contractor to Lock Up School of Hygiene in Ho

An unpaid contractor of a 12-unit classroom block for the School of Hygiene in Ho, Volta Region, has threatened to lock up the school.

Mr. Frank Agbeve of Kum-Franky Construction Limited expressed his displeasure about the government’s failure to pay him for the project.

He made the complaint on HoFM’s Adanu Morning Show with Togbe Ahorgo I.

Mr Agbeve said he completed the project with a loan facility but has not being paid since October 2016.

All efforts to get the money, he noted, proved futile, and, so, plans locking up the place after the Christmas break.

The Ho School of Hygiene was established in 1975 but lacks infrastructure. In the year 2015, GETFund started a 12-unit classroom block which is yet to be completed.

The school authorities pleaded with Mr Agbeve to allow them to use the unfinished facility, which is 70 per cent complete, because they had nowhere to operate.

The building currently serves as a hostel and classrooms for students.

The Principal of the school, Mr. Edward Fudzi, confirmed the angry contractor’s threat.
