The Member of Parliament for Ablekuma West Constituency who also doubles as the Minister of Communications and Digitalization, Hon. Ursula Owusu-Ekuful has initiated a foundation named ‘Ursula Foundation’ with the aim of presenting HOPE and shaping young boys and girls in the constituency and the country as a whole.
She explains that the legacy project derives from the numerous individuals who supported and motivated her during her life journey, which has imposed an absolute obligation on her to lend a helping hand to everyone else in way to make sure others attain even greater heights than her.
Speaking at the official launch on Saturday, June 22 at Dansoman, Hon. Ursula stated emphatically that the core values of the foundation would be INDEPENDENT, NON-POLITICAL, TRANSPARENT & FAIR in its operations.

“This foundation is a testament to our collective commitment to creating an opportunity for the people of Ablekuma to develop practical skills and knowledge to excel in the various sectors of the economy. We all know that everyone deserves basic human rights and opportunity yet, many are faced with barriers and challenges. The U Foundation is here! and will be our beacon of Hope”.
She added, “From my days as a charcoal seller to serving in public office, I’ve learned the values of compassion, service, and resilience. Leadership isn’t just about accomplishments; it’s about how those achievements uplift others. The conception to establish this Foundation as a legacy project stem from the numerous individuals who have supported and motivated me during my journey through life. This imposes an absolute obligation on me and everyone here present to lend a helping hand to everyone else.”
Detailing her achievement as Member of Parliament for the constituency, she stated, “I have been able to address series of problems from constituents, regarding education, healthcare, sanitation, infrastructure, and security, among other issues. I have come to realise that sustainable progress for our community requires more than politics. We must consciously embrace apolitical strategies and deliberately employ long-lasting solutions to address these issues.”
The foundation already has New Century Career Training Centre, Ghana Code Club, among others partnering to equip beneficiaries with skills in bead-making, installation of CCTV, coding, among other great initiatives.

George Cyril Bray, MCE for Ablekuma West Municipal Assembly, among others.
