Ursula Owusu -Allegations of Rejected Food Are False

The Member of Parliament for Ablekuma West, Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, has dismissed reports alleging that food distributed by her team to party agents on election day was rejected by constituents.

In a statement, she described the claims as baseless, misleading, and an attempt to tarnish her reputation.

Mrs. Owusu-Ekuful emphasized that no such incident occurred, labeling the reports as a fabrication lacking factual merit. She criticized the media outlet responsible for failing to adhere to basic journalistic principles of accuracy and fact-checking.

“I wish to emphatically state that this report is not only a fabrication but also a deliberate attempt to mislead the public and tarnish my reputation.

For the avoidance of doubt, no such incident occurred. This baseless narrative is devoid of any factual merit and reflects a complete failure on the part of the platform to adhere to basic journalistic ethics of fact-checking and accuracy”, the statement read.

She expressed concern over what she termed “malicious attempts” to create conflict and undermine the unity and trust she has built with her constituents.

According to her, such acts of irresponsible journalism harm not only her but also the Ghanaian public, who deserve credible information from media platforms.

To her constituents, the MP reiterated her dedication to their well-being and urged them not to be distracted by false narratives. She called for mutual respect and a focus on facts to maintain the peace and progress of Ablekuma West.

“My commitment to the people of Ablekuma West is unwavering. Over the years, I have served this constituency with integrity and a deep respect for its people, prioritizing their welfare above all else. My team is focused on ensuring a smooth and peaceful electoral process, and any logistical support provided was well-received by all involved”, she stated.
