Ursula Owusu Inspects Work on a modern computer laboratory, library and robotic center in Ebenezer Sec. School, Dansoman
On Monday, January 13, 2020, the Honourable Member of Parliament for the Ablekuma West Constituency and Minister for Communications, Mrs. Ursula Owusu-Ekuful inspected work on a modern Computer Laboratory, Library and Robotics Center currently under construction in the Ebenezer Secondary School in Dansoman.
The Multi Purpose ICT project is being executed by the MTN foundation in collaboration with the Ablekuma West Municipal Assembly.
On completion, the project which is the first of its kind in the Country would serve the Ablekuma West Municipality and schools in the Western Part of Accra.
Addressing the media after the inspection, Mrs. Ursula Owusu-Ekuful mentioned that the Project emanated from a proposal submitted to the MTN foundation by the Ablekuma West Municipal Assembly.
She emphasized the importance of ICTs in the global economy and the need to ensure that the young people of Ghana are introduced, at an early age to modern ICT facilities.
She recounted the great success chalked by the Mamfe Methodist Girls Senior High School in the World Robotics competition and was confident that the Robotics Center in Dansoman will become the hub of many World Robotics Champions in the future.
She expressed her appreciation to the MTN Foundation and implored the contractor to ensure that the project was completed on schedule.
Mrs. Ursula Owusu-Ekuful was joined on the inspection by the Honourable Municipal Chief Executive of the Ablekuma West Municipal Assembly, Mr. George Cyril Bray and Officials from the MTN Foundation.
The Multi purpose ICT Laboratory, Library and Robotics Center according to officials from MTN is expected to be completed by June 2020.
