Ursula Uplifts Agyarko
Ursula Owusu Ekuful, Minister of Communications, has encouraged Boakye Agyarko after he was sacked from the Ministry of Energy.
She urged the former Minister to accept the President’s decision in good faith as they [appointees] ‘serve at the pleasure of the President’.
“It is unfortunate that he has fallen casualty in these events…,” she said during a panel discussion on Peace FM’s morning show ‘Kokrokoo’, Wednesday.
The Member of Parliament for Ablekuma West constituency added: “he should take heart; he’s one of the most hardworking persons I know. We will miss him but this is not the end of the road for him…we serve at the pleasure of the president. He sees the whole picture so we should accord him that respect. He doesn’t have to give us any reason…”
Mr. Boakye Agyarko was sacked from office by President Akufo-Addo on Monday.
According to a statement from the Presidency announcing the action, he was directed by the President to hand over to the Lands and Natural Resources Minister, John Peter Amewu.
The dismissal of Mr. Agyarko follows reports that the President was misled into approving the new AMERI deal by an Executive Order.
Meanwhile, official reasons for his dismissal are yet to be given.
