VGMA 20: Artiste of the Decade Nominees Announced

Charter house Ghana, Organizers of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards has finally unveiled the nomination list for their new category, Artiste of the Decade.

Artiste of the Decade category is set to award artiste who had the biggest impact in the music industry, earned multiple nominations across the years in the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) and have been relevant in the Ghanaian music scene and beyond.

The award scheme will also take a closer look at the artiste who over the last decade been influential in music, showbiz and their craftsmanship in the industry can’t be measured.

The category is a different category from the ultimate category called Artiste of the year. Artiste of the Decade is honoured every ten years. The 2009 edition was won by Kojo Antwi.

Organizers of the Vodafone Ghana music awards will be rewarding ‘Artiste of the Decade’ as part of the 20th edition celebration.

According to the Organizers, Explanation for the Artiste of the Decade is the artiste adjudged by the Academy, Board and the General Public as the artiste(s) with the highest audience appeal and popularity over the last decade. The artiste(s) must have released a hit single/album within the last 10years.
