The 19th edition of the annual Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) would come off tomorrow April 14, at the Accra International Conference Centre.
The music industry would once again gather to reward deserving artistes who produced hit songs with a lot of air play in 2017.
It is expected to attract a large number of stakeholders in the creative arts industry in Ghana and Nigeria.
Joy FM’s DJ Black makes a return as the official DJ of the VGMAs; he will be responsible for providing music for the night as well as co-hosting the award ceremony.
Artistes tipped to win awards at this year’s event include Sarkodie, Shatta Wale, Stonebwoy, Ebony, Gifty Osei, Joe Mettle, Kuami Eugene, Kidi and a host of others.
The organizers of the awards have released the list of names of artistes billed to perform for the night.
They include Sarkodie, Samini, Joe Mettle, Efya, Kwesi Arthur, Praye, King Promise, Kelvin Boy, among others.
International artistes such as Tiwa Savage from Nigeria, and Nasty C from South Africa, would also be present to rock the stage.
Tickets are already selling for GH¢300 (Premium), and GH¢200 (Standard) at various sales point.
The Ghana Music Award is an awards scheme designed to recognize, celebrate the hard work and dedication of various stakeholders and players in the entertainment industry.
Since its inception in 2000, the scheme has grown to become the biggest event on the Ghanaian Entertainment Calendar. The VGMA is a Charterhouse Ghana event. This year is proudly sponsored by Vodafone and supported by Media General and Movenpick.
