VGMA ‘Reunites’ Music Trio Praye at 2018 Edition

Ghanaian hip life trio, Praye, performed together for the first time since they broke up in 2014.

The group, comprising Choirmaster, Kente and Big J Cartel, mounted the stage of the 2018 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards to thrill music fans to their old hit songs.

The atmosphere was filled with nostalgia and excitement as they dropped several hits amidst charged performance.

Praye was born in 2004 after they emerged winners of the maiden edition of the Nescafe African Revelations talent hunt.

They produced hit songs such as ‘Shordy,’ ‘Angela,’ ‘Jacket’, among others.

In 2014, members of the group went their separate ways but two of them (Kente and Big J) came back later to keep the group.

Choirmaster after the break up has released songs like ‘Catwalk,’ ‘Ghana’s Most Beautiful’ and ‘Pull Him Down’ and ‘Double Up’ while the other two have also done their individual and joint projects.

Recently, Choirmaster told citinewsroom.com that he would not mind joining the group again – but on condition that his former members would not repeat mistake they made in the past.

“Both my manager and Praye’s manager have met before and I remember what my management did was to present a contract to them. But when we met even though they disclosed all the projects they wanted to embark on, they did not give any positive reply,” he said.

He added that even though he wants to embark on his solo project, he would really want to see the group re-united.

“I’d really want to solve this issue before this year ends. I want to see Praye united although I will still be doing my solo projects. That is what I was working by posting something on 1st January, which was misconstrued by them,” he stated.

Their joint performance has left some music fans and critics wondering the group has come back for good.
