Video: I Am The Richest Pastor In Ghana – Obinim

Popular Ghanaian televangelist and preacher, Bishop Daniel Obinim, says he would single handedly purchase five airplanes in this month of June 2019, just to prove how rich he is, if any one dares him.

Obinim, General Overseer of International God’s Way church (IGWC), made the statement in a video that has gone viral on social media.

He said “That was why I was saying the other time that there is no pastor that can show face, or open the mouth in Ghana to say he or she has more money than Obinim and no one can ever say that.

“You can scroll through all the television channels and social media sites, you can never get any pastor to say he or she has more money than me, else I would shake up myself in this country and Ghanaians would see my wealth. It would even raise the eyebrows of the government”, Obinim added

He continued: “If any pastor dares claims to have more money than I do, in this month of June, I would bring five airplanes into Ghana. If you don’t believe it, just dare me, just dare me, just dare me.”

Bishop Obinim, a rather stylish pastor with a good sense of fashion and love for luxury cars, has  over the years demonstrated a fine ability to dominate newspaper headlines with an unparallel controversy.

His wealth is never is dispute although the source is not really known.

In December last year, Bishop Obinim single handedly financed the construction of a road linking two communities in the Ashanti region at an estimated cost of GH¢1.2 million.

In Accra, his congregation is one of the largest in Christian circles and he has a multi complex building facility he has rented at as hostels for students. His hostel rates have been heavily subsidized and it is reported that he personally takes care of the water bills and other utilities.

He also has a huge guest house that fetches him additional income.

However, controversy reached boiling points when Biship Obinim  told his congregation his source of wealth is spiritual:

““We take the money from the spiritual and convert them into physical. I have said all the monies I have put in the banks are not from my church, they are from the spiritual realm and I have changed them into physical.

“Jesus told me to share with my church members. So I tell you to watch your ways so I can use some of the money to help you and take care of you…” he said.

And true to his promise, Obinim truy helps a lot of persons financially by way of paying school fees, medical bills, accusation costs, funeral expenses and other philanthropic gestures.

Though he has suffered a lot of bad press and negative media reportage, Obinin continues to gain popularity and has a cult following of several hundreds of thousands across the country.

His Christian teachings and pastoral ethics have been challenged severally be other pastors but he seemed the least perturbed.
