Ghanaian duo, Mubarak Wakaso and Frank Acheampong’s Shenzen FC have been relegated from the Chinese Super League after finishing bottom of the table.
Shenzen FC ended the season with just two points in 30 matches, which led to their relegation from the Super League, alongside Dalian Pro. In their final game, they lost 3-0 to Beijing Guoan, and both Acheampong and Wakaso were absent.
Acheampong played in 14 matches, scoring five goals and assisting twice, while Wakaso returned to the team in September after a loan spell in Belgium.
Despite winning the league with Jiangsu Suning in 2020, Wakaso only appeared in five league matches this season.
Both players have contracts that extend until December 2024.
