Wall kills 2 men

DISASTER STRUCK when a fence wall collapsed and killed two building construction workers on Tuesday.

The incident happened at Atasemanso-Konkromoase in Kumasi, and it also led to injuries to one other worker.

The lifeless bodies of the deceased persons have since been deposited in a morgue for preservation and autopsy.

The injured person, who is said to be in a stable condition, is currently responding to treatment in a medical facility.

A certain developer had engaged the trio to work on his house at Atasemanso-Konkromoase that fateful day.

According to eyewitnesses, the three people (all males) were working when the wall suddenly collapse on them.

Kwabena Wiafe, a co-worker said they were “erecting a retaining wall when the huge block crashed the victims”.

The huge wall trapped all the three of them, leading to the death of two, whilst the remaining one sustained injuries.

The deafening noise that emanated after the wall had collapsed, attracted curious people to the accident scene.

The people, who had then turned themselves into a rescue team, retrieved the dead bodies and the injured person.

The unpleasant case was reported to the police and other appropriate agencies, who are investigating the case.
