THREE SUSPECTED killers of Wasiu, the murdered member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Taskforce in Kumasi, have been remanded into prison.
The suspects are Samuel Agyen aka ‘Rock’, Dauda Ibrahim aka ‘Wayo’ and Abdul Ganiyu, who is popularly known as ‘Petit’.
No sooner had the prosecutor the facts of the case in court than the matter was adjourned to March 14, this year.
The plea of the suspects, who willingly surrendered themselves to the police, was not taken during their first appearance in court on Monday.
Wasiu Family Wild
Meanwhile, some aggrieved family members of the late Wasiu nearly caused commotion in the court premises at Asokwa on Monday.
The family members, who were mainly youth, attempted to physically attack the family members and sympathizers of the accused persons.
Mr. Evans Amankwa, counsel of the suspects, confirmed that he was also nearly attacked by the angry-looking family members of Wasiu.
Wasiu’s Shooting
Wasiu did not survive after he was shot six times by some blood-thirsty people, believed to be members of the Hawks, another vigilante group in the NDC.
The incident happened in front of the Ashanti Regional NDC office, where party kingpins were resolving feuds in the party.
Twelve people, believed to be members of the Hawks, who are suspected to have a hand in the shooting of Wasiu, were declared wanted by the police.
Out of the twelve, Abdul, Dauda and Samuel voluntarily surrendered themselves to the police, insisting that they were innocent.
