Waste Or Create, a pro-Africa not-for-profit environmental organization founded in 2014, is set to launch a series of events as part of its change journey in the past five years of their existence.
Leading the list is the One Earth, One Move online campaign and Ghana’s biggest Eco Vision Board Party on June 30, 2022, while the Environmental Workforce for Africa Strategy will be launched on July 27, 2022.
Started as a campus-based project with the goal to inspire young people to be environmental change agents by creating from waste materials and reducing waste through design in a fun and exciting process, Waste or Create was officially incorporated as an NGO in 2017.
Today, it has become one of Africa’s leading lights in innovative, creative, and sustainable solutions toward environmental and economic development and is currently working in 4 West African countries.
The organization brings people together to create radical innovations to solve some of the hardest environmental and climate hardest problems.
They combine principles of sustainability with STEAM education in an engaging, alternative, and skills-based approach to develop the solutions and talent for businesses and industries that will shape the future of tomorrow, as part of their quota to protect the environment, hence championing ideas that aid the Sustainable Development Goals.
The One Earth, One Move campaign is a Waste Or Create Campaign geared toward the urgency to raise the next generation of radical thinkers to drive radical, innovative environmental solutions.
This campaign is a preamble to Waste Or Create’s Environmental Workforce Of Africa Strategy, which is a five-year plan to position environmental sustainability as a key career path for the youth on the continent as it has a direct impact on the future of the planet.
“We have One Earth, One Move to make. The only thing we can do to help control the effects of climate change is to think of the future because we have enough heroes in the present. We need to raise radical environmental thinkers to drive radical environmental solutions into the future. We need a workforce capable of managing solutions for now and improving on them for the future,” says Chineyenwa Okoro Onu, Founder and Board Chair of Waste Or Create Hub.
“As a matter of urgency, if we do not create the workforce for the future, our present efforts will go down the drain. This is why Waste Or Create Hub is launching its Environmental Workforce for Africa Strategy as an initial measure to help champion the solutions of the future through a ready workforce.”
Waste or Create Hub is an inclusive, technical, and practical space for sustainable innovations.
