FAROUK Aliu Mahama, son of late Vice President, Alhaji Aliu Mahama, has broken his silenced over a devastating fire outbreak at the family’s hotel at Tamale.
According to Farouk, the Mafara Hotel was totally gutted by fire but the family has decided to “leave everything to Allah, since He knows best”.
The Mafara Hotel, situated in the Northern Regional capital of Tamale, was hit by a fire outbreak earlier this week, causing massive destruction in the process.
The inferno was said to have traveled at top speed due to strong winds in the Northern Regional capital so it was difficult for fire fighters to battle the blaze.
Farouk Aliu Mahama, commenting about the unpleasant incident for the first time, said the exact cause of the inferno was yet to be established by experts.
He, however, suspected that an air conditioner switch in one of the rooms might have caused the inferno, leading to massive destruction in the plush-looking hotel.
Farouk Aliu Mahama stated on radio in Kumasi that the unexpected fire outbreak has come as a big blow to the late vice president’s family.
However, he said he and his family are staunch Muslims therefore they have left the fire disaster into the hands of “Allah since He knows what is best for us.
“As you are aware, for us Muslims, whenever there is a disaster, we don’t complain because we believe that in good or bad times, Allah should be praised.
“We have therefore decided to leave everything into the hands of Allah because He is our comforter and protector and He knows what is best for the family”.
