Augustine Sefah, Asante Kotoko defender, has said, despite the lone goal defeat suffered at the hands of Sudanese club, Al Hilal Omdurman in the opening group game of the Confederation of Africa Football (CAF) Confederations Cup, they are bent on coming back stronger in the competition.
Waleed Bakhet Hamid’s 40th minute strike was enough to claim all three points for the North Africans.
With Zambia’s Zesco United beating country rivals Nkana FC 2-0 in the other Group C game, Kotoko sit third on the table, while Al Hilal hold the second position behind Zesco.
The defender who played full throttle of the game at the King Said University Stadium in Riyadh said in a media interview that, the Porcupine Warriors were still confident of their chances of qualifying from the group.
“We have five more matches to go so we would put this loss behind us and reach out to win the rest of the matches. It is just the first game though significant, but all hope is not lost.
“We will put ourselves together and come back stronger,” Sefah said.
Kotoko have landed safely in the country on Monday afternoon to prepare for the second group game on February 13 against group leaders Zesco United at the Baba Yara Stadium.
