‘We Will Expose Blay’s Buses with Documents’ – Ntim’s Camp
Kofi Kapito, Campaign Manager for aspiring National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Stephen Ayensu Ntim, has said delegates of the party should not be hoodwinked by claims of fellow aspirant Freddie Blay that he is personally providing 275 buses for each of the NPP’s constituencies across the country.
According to Mr Kapito, documents available show that the idea to resource the party at the constituency level with buses was conceived by the party as a whole and not Mr Blay.
Mr Blay, who is also acting National Chair of the NPP, promised, ahead of the party’s Saturday delegates’ conference in Koforidua, that he will gift each constituency a bus.
Touching on the funding for the buses, Mr Blay told journalists on Wednesday, 4 July that: “A financial institution is helping us. We’re taking a bank facility to do so. It’s self-paying… We do so and for every constituency. It’s not about if they vote for me first before I do it. The buses are in the country. They’re in the harbour”.
But speaking on Ghana Yensom on Accra 100.5FM Thursday, 5 July, Mr Kapito said: “We will release documents covering the buses for all Ghanaians to see who actually conceived the idea to resource the party with buses.”
“We will expose Blay’s buses with documents,” he stressed.
The documents available to Accra100.5FM indicate that the NPP in 2017 entered into an agreement with Senalie Group for the supply of the buses.
The signing of the contract between these two parties was witnessed by Mr John Boadu, Acting General Secretary of the NPP.
It also shows that Mr Blay acted on behalf of the NPP as a guarantor for the procurement of these buses.
