Weeds Takes Over Sofoline Highway
A DANGEROUS scenario is currently surfacing along the main Sofoline to Kwadaso highway, which has the potential of causing gory vehicular accidents, if not addressed timeously.
THE NEW PUBLISHER has observed that weeds on the pavements that divide both inbound and outbound directions of the highway, have been left to overgrow and are thereby obstructing the view of road users, particularly drivers from the Sofoline Interchange area or the Kwadaso direction.
Ordinarily, the busy road which links the Ahafo and Bono Ahafo regions to the Ashanti region, should have been at the heart of city authorities, but it appears the portion of the road had been unkempt for heaven knows how long.
Some of the Kwadaso residents that spoke to the paper lambasted the city authorities for not being proactive as they have allowed the road to be turned into a mini forest.
Fuming with rage, Kwaku Adjei chastised the environmental unit of the Kwadaso Municipal Assembly for failing to deliver on their mandate.
“Clearly the oncoming drivers from both sides cannot are properly because their view has been blocked by the mini forest and this can cause a crash, but nobody cares”, he fumed.
Adwoa Krah, another resident, vented her anger, saying “incompetent people are manning the Assembly and this is the result”.
According to her, the assembly was only interested in collecting tax from the people, while monies collected from residents are not used to develop the municipality.
