The Youth Employment Agency, Ghana has rubbished reports that suggest Rufftown Records Label signed artist Wendy Shay has been kicked out as an ambassador.
Early Monday July 8, 2019, reports surfaced that the musician had been sacked due to an ‘indecent’ outfit she wore to meet the former President of the Republic of Ghana, John Agyekum Kuffour.
The reports were spurred by the omission of Wendy’s name from a list of celebrities working for the YEA as ambassadors.
The list had Kwabena Anokye Adisi, Journalist/ CEO, EIB Group / Start-Up consultant; Bryan Amoateng, Pastor, Author, Life Coach, Entrepreneur, Founder, International Youth Empowerment Summit (IYES) who is also the President, Bryan Jones Outreach; Jackie Appiah, award-winning actress, entrepreneur; Bibi Bright – Actress, Entrepreneur, Humanitarian; Emelia Brobbey – Actress, Trained Teacher and Journalist; Rebecca Donkor – CEO, MakeUp Ghana, Start-Up Consultant, Founder/CEO Healthcare Management.
The public inferred from the list as that Wendy Shay had been dropped following the viral circulation on social media, of a sexy photo she took with former President John Agyekum Kufuor.
But responding to the claims in an interview on ‘Best Entertainment Show’ on Okay FM with host Halifax Ansah-Addo, Kwesi Afriyie who lands as the Corporate Affairs Manager of YEA said Wendy Shay is still ambassador for the youth agency.
”Wendy Shay has not been sacked as an ambassador for YEA. The latest release from YEA has only some of our ambassadors and not all. We are just in talks with the musician, she has not been sacked or anything as the media is speculating” he said.
