The World Health Organisation (WHO) Regional Director for Africa, Dr Matshidi Moeti, will be visiting Ghana for the first time from April 21-25 2018 at the invitation of the Ghanaian authorities.
The visit will provide an opportunity for her to acquaint herself with ongoing efforts, successes and challenges as the country strives to improve the wealth and well-being of Ghanaians.
Dr Moeti will be the special guest of honour at the 2018 annual health summit and will also deliver the key note address.
The Regional Director will pay courtesy calls on President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, the First Lady Rebecca Akufo-Addo, Ministers of Finance, Planning and Foreign Affairs. She will also hold discussions with senior officials of the Ministry of Health and embark on field visits to some health facilities and health research centres in the country.
Among her official engagements are meetings with the UN country team (UNCT) bilateral and multinational partners, to discuss coordination of international health partners to support the health sector in Ghana.
