Win the League Title for Kotoko – Hendricks tells Fabin
Joseph Hendricks, former captain of the Kumasi Asante Kotoko, has called on coach Paa Kwesi Fabin, to ensure Kotoko wins 2017/18 Ghana Premier League (GPL) title.
Kotoko have won the league title 24 times and last won the title back 2013/2014 season, but this year’s four-year trophy-less league drought, looks a disturbing phenomenon for some stalwarts of the clubs.
Hendricks, who is considered an illustrious son of Kotoko, wants coach Fabin to start getting some silverware during his second spell with the club and he should deliver this season’s league title for the Porcupine Warriors.
“Kotoko is not an up and coming team and supporters don’t have patience for any building process. Every Kotoko supporter wants a silverware, so there is lots of pressure on the coaches who occupy that role.
“So I entreat him (Fabin) to do his homework well and fix things so as to lead Kotoko to lift the trophy, because excuses would certainly not be welcome by fans and Kotoko is way above occupying third and fourth position on the league log,” he stated.
The Porcupine Warriors have already missed out on winning a continental trophy for this season as they were thrown out of the first round of CAF Confederation Cup by Congolese side CARA and this prompted the sacking of Steven Polack, as Fabin handed the head coach role afterwards.
