Woman, 43, Grabbed for Hoarding Wee

A 43-YEAR-old woman has been apprehended by the police for allegedly dealing in Indian hemp, popularly known as ‘Wee’.

Madam Ernestine Asuo was keeping 121 parcels of dried leaves, suspected to be wee, in her metal container, when a police team, who were acting upon a tip off, searched the container at Mangoase, near Obuasi.

Ernestina and one another person, Emmanuel Osei, 22, are now firmly in police grips, assisting in investigation.

A police source said the Obuasi police had information recently that someone was dealing in Wee at Kunka near Obuasi.

The police quickly rushed to the place and Osei was arrested in possession of 60 wrappers of dried leaves, suspected to be wee, and upon interrogation, the police further gathered that another person, this time a woman, was also dealing in the banned substance at Mangoase.

The police then rushed to Mangoase and eventually arrested Madam Ernestina Asuo.
