The Ajumako Magistrate Court, presided over by His Lordship Rockson Alfred Kpodo, has remanded a 60-year-old woman, identified as Efua Hawa, into two weeks prisons custody for allegedly poisoning her son and his friend to death.
The incident happened at Ajumako Obom in the Ajumako-Enyan-Essiam District of the Central region when Efua Hawa poisoned a bowl of indomie she prepared for the duo.
In an interview with Adom News, the suspect, who pleaded guilty in court, explained that her son, who is a convict, was giving her too much problems in the house.
“My son has been to prison for about four times but hasn’t changed in any way. He frequently assaulted me and that was why I wanted to end it all, so I decided to poison him but didn’t know his friend was going to eat with him,” she narrated.
The case has been adjourned to April 16, 2019.
