Woman kills biological son, 2

A 30 YEAR-old woman is in deep waters as she has been arrested for alleged butchering of her two year old son to death in Afigya Kwabre South District.

The suspect, identified as Hannah Akua Afriyie, was reported to have used a sharp-looking machete to inflict several wounds on her son, who died later on.

The heartbreaking incident, according to the Assemblyman for Brofeyedu Electoral Area, Nkrumah Kwaku Duncan, occurred at Agyarko-Buoho on Sunday evening.

The assemblyman, who sounded sad over the issue, said there are wide reports that the woman was suffering from high fever, which may have influenced her action.

According to him, Akua Afriyie’s husband was said to have gone to a church service on Sunday evening when suddenly her wife’s high fever ailment resurfaced.

Akua Afriyie, who was wielding sharp-looking machete, was said to have threatened to butcher people in their Agyarko-Buoho home, forcing them to flee the house.

Unfortunately, it was left with the mother and her two year old son alone in the house, and she (Akua Afriyie) then reportedly butchered the innocent looking boy.

Later on, some brave people intervened and disarmed Akua Afriyie, after which they rushed the injured boy to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
