Woman Says She Felt Sexually Harassed During Appearance on Steve Harvey’s Talk Show

Steve Harvey has been slapped with another lawsuit. According to TMZ, the 61-year-old comedian is being sued by a former guest on his eponymous TV talk show. The plaintiff, Dominique Collier, claims Harvey and the series’ production company portrayed her as an overtly sexual single mom who was in desperate need of a makeover. Collier says the segment was exaggerated, contrived, and emotionally damaging.

The suit states the woman was brought on the show after she responded to a casting call for “single professional women who like to show off their looks.” Collier said she was told by producers that the segment would simply showcase her life as a single mother who was also working as a fitness model—both of which were true; however, the woman claims that the actual segment was much different, and far more humiliating, than what she was told.

According to TMZ, Collier arrived on the set in 2016 wearing a conservative long-sleeve blouse and a pencil skirt. She was told by production that she needed to change and was given a form-fitting outfit that showed more skin. But that wasn’t the worst of it, Collier claims.

After she switched her clothing, the woman was allegedly brought on stage and subjected to derogatory comments from the studio audience. Collier says the crowd was asked to judge her by holding up signs with harsh labels, such as “slut,” “whore,” and “ratchet.” The woman said the show pulled the “audience poll” from the episode after she had sent them a cease-and-desist; however, she claims that the incident was so embarrassing that it brought her to tears backstage. Collier was reportedly crying when Harvey approached her on the set to return her old clothes.

Collier says the incident felt like sexual harassment, which is why she’s suing the talk show host, Endemol Shine, and NBC for a minimum of $2 million.
