Wontumi Backs Kojo Bonsu against Mahama
THE ASHANTI Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi Boasiako, aka ‘Wontumi’, has thrown his weight behind Kojo Bonsu in the National Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential race.
According to him, Kojo Bonsu, who is a former Chief Executive of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA), is more competent to lead the country than ex-President John Mahama.
He has therefore entreated the NDC delegates to vote massively for Mr. Bonsu when the party goes for the presidential primaries.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with THE PUBLISHER, Wontumi opined that Kojo Bonsu would perform better than Mr. Mahama, during the NDC presidential contest.
According to him, it is an open secret that Bonsu, until his decision to join the NDC presidential race, was a staunch supporter of Mr. John Dramani Mahama.
He therefore argued that the decision to contest his former boss was a strong indication that the former president was not competent enough.
“Kojo Bonsu has now realized the obvious truth that Mr. Mahama doesn’t have the credibility and the expertise, which a presidential material should have, and that is why he is contesting him”.
Wontumi is of the view that, like many Ghanaians, Kojo Bonsu was also convinced that he could be a better president than Mr. Mahama, ‘and I am backing him’.
