Wontumi Fights NDC Over Gay Marriage

The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi Boasiako is seething with anger over claims that the government is set to legalize same-sex marriage in the country.

Nicknamed Chairman ‘Wontumi’, the NPP guru descended heavily on the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for spreading the falsehood to discredit the NPP administration.

The visibly miffed Wontumi, who was reacting to allegations by the NDC General Secretary, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, that the NPP government was lacing its boots to introduce same-sex marriage in the country anytime soon.

But Chairman ‘Wontumi’ described the claim as laughable arguing that the Akufo-Addo-led government does not have any plans to introduce same-sex marriage in the country.

He stated that such blatant lies by the NDC should be totally rejected by the people.

Wontumi said the NDC is the only political party in the country, which clearly has ‘evil’ intentions to introduce same-sex marriage into the country, stressing that the NDC are only indulging in propaganda by accusing the NPP.

He recounted several instances where the NDC government, under the leadership of former President John Dramani Mahama, had had close working relationships  with known same-sex enthusiasts in the world.

“Mr. John Dramani Mahama, whilst he was the number one gentleman of the land, openly moved and worked with known same-sex marriage enthusiasts in the world”, outspoken Wontumi, alleged on Kumasi based Nhyira FM.

“Some of the top same-sex individuals across the globe even donated huge amount of money to support former President Mahama’s programmes. The NDC are rather for same-sex marriage and not the NPP”, he stated.
