Wontumi Goes Ballistic…Insults Asare Bediako On Public Radio
THE UPCOMING Ashanti Regional New Patriotic Party (NPP) polls has taken a rather unfortunate twist with the incumbent Regional Chairman, Bernard Antwi Boasiako aka ‘Wontumi’, using insulting and demeaning words to describe one of his contenders on public radio.
The NPP chairman, without provocation rained a barrage of invectives on Mr. Asare Bediako, the party’s Chairman for Asokwa Constituency in Kumasi.
Wontumi, among other unprintable words, referred to Mr. Bediako, as a “fool”, right on Okay FM during an interview.
Bediako’s Crime
The Ashanti Regional NPP Chairman was not comfortable about Mr. Bediako’s comment about some money he (Wontumi) is reported to have paid for the party.
It all started over reports that Wontumi had boasted that he had paid an amount GHC 240,000 for forms for party members for the NPP polling station elections in six regions across the country.
According to Wontumi, the six regions include the Ashanti, Brong Ahafo, Volta and the three Northern Regions.
But Wontumi, doubting the claim, had argued that Wontumi’s GHC 240,000 cannot even pay for the forms for NPP members in the over 5,100 polling stations in the Ashanti region alone.
He therefore stated that he can also pay similar amount of money to support the party’s polling station polls if it became necessary.
Mr. Bediako stated that if Wontumi indeed claims he is paying for the six regions then he (Wontumi) should pay the required amount.
Wontumi’s Insults
Wontumi, who was speaking on Okay FM got incensed over Mr. Bediako’s comments and took him to the cleaners.
“He spoke like a fool”, he referred to Mr. Bediako, adding that if Mr. Bediako has money he should also pay money to help the party and stop making noise.
The host of the show tried to calm Wontumi down but it did not work as Wontumi, who was extremely angry, continued insulting the elderly man.
