Woodworkers Applaud Gov’t
The Ashanti Regional branch of the Woodworkers Association of Ghana (WAG) have praised President Nana Akufo-Addo for what they describe as positive policies he has introduced to support their carpentry business.
They particularly mentioned the President’s passion to develop the technical and vocational institutions in the state would have a direct link to boosting their sector.
Reynolds Apeke Debrah, a former President of the Ashanti Regional branch of WAG, stated that technical and vocational studies holds one of the keys to Ghana’s bright future.
According to him, several countries that invested heavily into technical and vocational education in the past, are reaping huge benefits currently and therefore Ghana should take a cue from thatIn this regard, he said the New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration has taken a wise and important decision to give the two key subjects attention and support.
“We appreciate President Nana Akufo-Addo’s government for their decision to upgrade technical and vocational institutions in Ghana”, he told The New Publisher.
The former Ashanti Regional WAG president entreated the populace to give the government the maximum support in order to improve technical and vocational studies.
Mr. Apeke Debrah also appealed to government to assist the carpentry work by awarding them contracts to manufacture classroom desks and others.
“We have in our midst, well trained and skilled personnel in the association that can build classroom blocks and manufacture other items such as desks”, he stated.
Mr. Apeke Debrah also called for government’s support to enable them secure soft-loans from the banks to replace their equipment, which are obsolete now.
