The current Artiste of the Year at the Telecel Ghana Music Awards, Livingstone Etse Satekla, famously known as Stonebwoy, has recently graduated from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA).
“It’s a big deal, coupling a career as mine and education as the same time public administration is not easy. We can see under the year of review: last year and last two years, how active I have been on the musically front and also being equally active on the educational front, I think it worth it,” he stated.
His educational journey, interrupted by his thriving music career, resumed in 2021, culminating in a joyous graduation ceremony on Friday, July 26 at GIMPA’s campus.
Attending alongside his wife, two children, and team members, Stonebwoy proudly received his Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration with a second-class upper division.
Videos shared on Instagram by GH Hyper captured the celebratory atmosphere, showcasing the artist in high spirits surrounded by loved ones. Following his final exams, his family honored his achievement with a festive home party.
Stonebwoy’s decision to return to academic pursuits he said was inspired by his wife, Dr. Louisa, who not only encouraged but facilitated his enrollment by purchasing admission forms.
His passion for public administration, driven by a desire to contribute to societal welfare, motivated his studies at GIMPA. This academic journey marks a poignant shift from his earlier decision to leave studies at the University of Professional Studies Accra (UPSA), where he was studying business administration to focus on music.
According to his wife, “Stone has done so well. A lot of work and sacrifice has gone into these past few years and finally today is here,” she proudly remarked during his graduation lunch.
With a renewed commitment to both fields, Stonebwoy exemplifies a balance between artistic creativity and academic diligence, setting a commendable example for his fans and peers alike.
