Yamoah Ponkoh Defends Zoomlion
NATIONAL DEMOCRATIC Congress (NDC) strongman in Kumasi, Afrifa Yamoah Ponkoh, is brimming with rage over the manner the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government is treating the Zoomlion Boss, Joseph Siaw Agyepong.
Ponkoh said there are clear signs that some individuals within the President Akufo-Addo-led administration are determined to frustrate the Zoomlion boss and vowed that all attempts to destroy his business empire would crumble, saying “We are firmly behind him in these trying times”.
Yamoah Ponkoh’s strong statement was in response to reports that government had decided to cancel Zoomlion’s Sanitation contract.
He was referring to the CEO of the Youth Employment Agency (YEA), Justin Kodua’s, announcement that competitive tendering would be opened for the YEA to join the sanitation industry.
Speaking on Nhyira FM, Ponkoh said the NPP administration was just determined to crumble the businesses of Mr. Agyepong.
“They (NPP) said they would collapse the businesses of the Zoomlion boss when they were in opposition and they have started doing it now.
“Zoomlion is the suitable company to handle sanitation issues in the country and they know it, but they intentionally want to destroy their business.
“I am telling the NPP that they can never destroy the business of Zoomlion. If they want they should try and see what will happen eventually”.
