Former Ghana international Yaw Preko has been introduced as the new head coach of Nsoatreman FC, securing a two-year contract with the FA Cup champions.
Preko fills the void left by Maxwell Konadu, who recently departed for South Africa’s Black Leopards.
His key objectives will be to guide Nsoatreman in their historic African debut and defend their MTN FA Cup title.
“Nsuatre is a small community but our passion for the game is huge,” declared club chairman Hon Dr. Baffour Awuah at the unveiling ceremony.
“Our people want you to have a winning mentality, winning away and at home. This is what we want from you. I am there to support you. Whenever there is a challenge, let me and my board know.”
Highlighting the club’s ambitions, Awuah added, “We wish you all the best. We want to make an impact in Africa and thank you for accepting to work with us.”
Preko officially signed his contract at the ceremony held in Nsuatre on Monday. The experienced coach boasts previous stints with Hearts of Oak, King Faisal, and Medeama.
He’s also currently the head coach of Ghana’s U-15 national team, adding another layer to his busy schedule.
Nsoatreman and their fans are buzzing with anticipation to see what Preko’s leadership will bring as they venture into the exciting world of African football after qualifying for the CAF Confederation Cup.
