It appears some group of persons in the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) have geared up for campaign ahead of election 2020.
Although the party has not officially lifted the ban on active political campaigns, it is as though some group sympathetic to the party have already taken the lead.
The group calling itself the Young Kukrudites Movement (YKM) was on Saturday spotted in parts of Accra including the Achimaota overhead wielding placards trumpeting the achievements of the Nana Akuffo-Addo-led government.
The young men clad in NPP branded T-Shirts carried placards and notices reminding the voting populace of the need to retain the government in next year’s general polls in view of its fulfilled campaign promises in the 2016 elections.
The group’s miniature billboards announced what it said was the government’s deliverables.
Some of the placards read: “We Promised To Double Capitation Grant, We Have Delivered”; “We Promised A One Village One Dam, We Are Delivering”; “We Promised To Implement A National Property Digital Address System, We Have Delivered, We Promised To Reduce The Hardships Of The Disabled And Increase The Share Of DACF To Persons With Disabilities By 50%. We Have Delivered” among others.
