Ghanaian striker Hans Kwofie, has tragically lost his life in a car accident on Friday in Dadwen, near Tarkwa in the Western Region.
According to Ghanasoccernet, the 35-year-old footballer was on his way to his hometown of Dompim Pepesa when the accident occurred, resulting in his immediate death.
Kwofie gained prominence in the Ghana Premier League, particularly for his remarkable performance in 2017 when he emerged as the league’s top scorer with 17 goals for AshantiGold. Known for his strength, agility, and technical prowess, Kwofie was adept at launching counterattacks from both the right and left wings.
Recently, Hans Kwofie had been without a club since parting ways with Nepali side Birgunj United in February. His football career began at Nsoatre Manchester United and included stints with several Ghanaian clubs like Medeama, Aduana FC, and Legon Cities. Kwofie’s talent also took him abroad, playing for Qatari club Al-Oruba, Egypt’s Smouha SC, Tanzania’s Singida United, and Malaysian side Puchong Fuerza.
