ZOOMLION GHANA Limited, a leading sanitation company in the country, yesterday (Tuesday), fumigated all markets in the Ashanti Region.
The top sanitation company also fumigated all public toilets, public bathhouses and public car parks during an exercise that has been widely praised by residents of the region.
Philip Yeboah Asante, the General Manager (GM) for Ashanti Regional Zoomlion Ltd, said the fumigation exercise is mainly intended to kill hidden bacteria and insects in the aforementioned places.
Yeboah Asante disclosed that the important fumigation exercise was also geared towards helping to stop the spread of the dangerous COVID-19.
Speaking with journalists prior to the start of the fumigation exercise, Yeboah Asante said “we shall also do cleanup exercise on Wednesday”.
Ashanti Regional Minister, Simon Osei Mensah, lauded President Nana Akufo-Addo for having the passion to promote good sanitation.
He stated that Zoomlion Ghana Ltd is embarking on a cleanup exercise in all the markets and lorry parks in all the 16 regions of the country.
Osei Assibey Antwi said government is investing heavily to fumigate the markets and lorry parks so he urged Zoomlion Ghana to do a good work.
Zoomlion Ghana Ltd and the Ministries of Local Government and Sanitation and Water Resources collaborated to disinfect the markets.
