Two of Ghana’s dancehall rivals, Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale who for the past weeks have been throwing innuendos and jabs at each other met at the Akwasidae Festival held at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi yesterday.
They were part of the team from Zylofon Media which joined the Asantehene and his people to celebrate the Akwasidae, a festival observed by the Asanteman.
The Akwasidae Festival is celebrated by the Ashanti people and chiefs in Ashanti as well as the Ashanti diaspora. The festival is celebrated on a Sunday, once every six weeks. The Akwasidae Festival is next only in importance to the National Day celebrations.
The two were seen standing side-by-side the Chief Executive Officer of Zylofon Media, Nana Appiah Mensah.
Photos of the dancehall artistes and their boss which were posted on the Instagram handle of Stonebwoy was captioned, “Unity is major key.”
Already, some fans have interpreted the gesture to mean that the two may have finally squashed their beef or are on the way of doing so.
Not long ago, Shatta Wale took to social media to mock Stonebwoy for donating a ‘paltry’ Ghc 5,000 to the accident victims of the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital. This generated subtle counter responses from Stonebwoy and his fans.
Stonebwoy, after his grudge with some Zylofon Media staff that attempted to take his car from him at Champs Bar, was again trolled by Shatta Wale for being ‘greedy’.
Ever since the incident, Stonebwoy has been conspicuously missing at Zylofon Media functions.
Reports say Stonebwoy is not happy that Shatta Wale was also signed on to the Zylofon Music record label; he believes the latter is given preferential treatment.
