Zylofon Cash Ghana Premier League Unveiled
Zylofon Cash, a subsidiary of the Zylofon Group, was on Thursday unveiled as the new sponsor for the Ghana Premier League, after the Ghana Football Association (GFA) signed a five-year $10 million sponsorship deal with the leading media conglomerate.
The deal, which now labels the local league as Zylofon Cash Premier League, will see all 16 Ghana Premier League club’s receiving a combined sum of $2 million annually over the period.
Speaking at the unveiling ceremony, the Chief Executive Officer of Zylofon Group, Nana Appiah Mensah, said “Zylofon Cash has proudly taken a decision to be the headline sponsor of the Ghana Premier League. We are aiming to use our brand to help the development of football in the country, and there is no better place to start than supporting the local league”.
The Ghana Premier League, it is recalled, has been without a headline sponsor for three years, after Capital Plus Bank pulled out of their deal.
As would be expected, many clubs and football lovers have expressed joy over the deal.
The Public Relations Officer (PRO) of Accra Hearts of Oak, Opare Addo, says the Zylofon Cash Sponsorship of the Ghana Premier League is good news for the top-flight league.
“I think it’s good for the premier league because if you already have some means of generating revenues to run the club, then this sponsorship adds to that. I think it’s good news for the Premier League and we are all happy for it,” he told Zylofon FM.
Chief Executive Officer of Techiman Eleven Wonders, Takyi Arhin, also applauded the Zylofon Cash sponsorship, stressing that it is a relief to the clubs.
“Thank God we have a sponsor now,” he told Zylofon FM.
“For the first time in the history of Ghana Football, all the 16 clubs, the GFA President, the General Secretary and his deputies, we sat down and went through the contract together from page to page and checked everything bit of it. I am happy and I know this will be a big relief for the clubs,” he added.
Shatta, Stonebwouy To Perform
Meanwhile the Chief Executive Officer of Zylofon Media Group, Nana Appiah Mensah has confirmed artists signed to his management will perform at various centers of the Ghana Premier League.
He said Shatta Wale, Stonebwouy and all the artist signed to his label will be performing at league centers, stating “Stonebwoy, Shatta Wale, Becca and others to perform at ZylofonCash Ghana Premier League games to promote league tournaments,” he said.
The Ghana Premier League, now the Zylofon Cash Premier League is on break and will return next Wednesday.
